Join us in welcoming 20 students to New York City for valuable work experience.

We are pleased to announce that after a wonderfully enriching, life-changing experience for the students in our 2022 pilot Professional Horitzons Summer Internship Program with Mississippi State University (MSU), the program is returning for its second iteration this summer!  This year’s program will run from July 10 – 28, 2023, in New York City, where students will split their time between academic study of the built urban environment, and hands-on professional experience as an intern at a New York design firm.

Last summer, the DLF partnered with 19 firms to provide paid work opportunities for MSU students of varying degrees of financial privilege, offering valuable on-the-job training and a network for interns as they forge their careers in architecture and design. At last year’s DLN Summit in Rome, student attendees spoke about the value of the program, and the importance of its continued evolution: “In Mississippi, we see a lot of one-offs, people come and go,” said intern Jared Woullard. “To know that the DLF has committed to two more years of support means so much to me, but most importantly, it means so much to the ones that come after me, the future of our design world.”

That’s where the DLN community comes in: The DLF is thrilled to have 20 students already lined up for the 2023 summer program, and excited to pair them with DLN firms to provide a talented addition to Member workforces and an indelible experience to students who represent the future of our disciplines.
