The Gatheround pre-show event is exclusive to DLN members and partners only.

General Tips:

  • Gatheround can be accessed on a computer, mobile device, or tablet – anything with a camera and microphone
  • We recommend using Chrome, Firefox, or Safari for the best experience
  • Make sure your internet connection is strong. Limit the number of devices connected to your wifi or use an ethernet cord to connect.
  • Close out of Zoom, Webex, Teams, Skype, or any other programs that use your camera and microphone
  • If at any point during the event you lose audio or video, refresh your browser.

  • There are two ways to log into Gatheround – your Google Account or an Email Address. You will be prompted to select one upon clicking the link to join the event. Follow the steps on the screen.
    • If you are having trouble logging in via your Google Account:
      • Double check that you are entering the correct password
      • If it is still not working, try a different browser or try signing in with your email address

      • Check your spam or junk folder for the sign-in email from noreply@gatheround.com
      • If you have not received the email, click “Resend Link” and then refresh your email inbox
      • If this is still not working, try a different email

What to Expect When Using Gatheround:

  • Once you have logged in, you will be prompted to allow access to your camera and microphone. You must grant access in order to participate.
  • When you first join, you will see the main room.
    • When in the main room, no one can see or hear you
    • Feel free to say hello in the chat
    • Once everyone joins, the hosts will join the stage to give further instructions
  • After a brief introduction, everyone will be randomly put into small groups for short conversations. There will be multiple rounds so you can meet a variety of people.
  • When the hosts initiate a round, a window will pop-up. Click on “join game”
  • You will then be put in a room with other people who will be able to see and hear you.

I joined late. Now what?

  • You can always join a conversation late by clicking “Join Game” on the left side of your screen. You will be matched with other late comers
  • If there are no other late comers, you can hang out in the main room until the next round

Troubleshooting

  • I can’t see or hear the host in the main room
    • The host can only be seen or heard when they are on the stage. It is possible no one has joined the stage yet!
    • Unsure if someone is on the stage? Send a message in the chat.
    • If the host is on the stage, try refreshing your browser.
    • Check your audio settings: Are your headphones plugged in? Is your volume on? Did you accidentally mute yourself?
    • If you are on an iPhone or iPad, you may need to “tap” the video to un-mute it
    • If you still cannot see or hear the host, try a different browser (Chrome, Firefox, or Safari) or a different device (Gatheround works on mobile devices).
  • Can’t see or hear your match(es)
    • Follow the same steps as above
  • Your match can’t see or hear you
    • Were other matches able to see or hear you? If so, then it might be an issue with your match’s connection.
    • If not, try refreshing your browser (you will be brought right back to your match)
    • Make sure you have closed out of all applications that use your hardware – such as Zoom, Webex, Skype, etc. Then try refreshing your browser again.
    • Does your device have multiple cameras or microphones connected to it? It could be connected to the wrong one!
      • In Gatheround, select the gear icon in the top right corner
      • From the dropdown menu, select the correct camera and microphone
    • If you need additional assistance with your camera or microphone, please refer to this article
